RUNNING COMMENTARY

Here we go again. Thank goodness it's the last run we registered for this year! Another early morning breakfast and prep.
Runners and supporters near the starting point.

The crowd grows bigger...
But it's best to be near the front. Then when others overtake you, you still have some room to move. At the back, it's elbow room only and strollers who won't care if they're blocking traffic. And we get to look at the guest-of-honour's triathlete legs!
Chips near the tips of our shoes. They register our comings and goings. We 10k runners start at 7.30 and the 5k ones an hour later. Besides the tees and goodie bags, the 5k-ers don't get much else - no medal, no timings (hence no chip).
The carnival at the Padang. Lots of portaloos for those who need the potty!

Yeah, stragglers were coming in even after we've queued and had our massage, checked out the booths and played with a Chewie lookalike.
By the end of the morning, the banana distributors were begging us to take their fruit, offering to fill bags. Early morning cereal, one pre-run banana, post-run sorbet, isotonic drinks, water, water, water, more cereal and Coffee & Toast brekkie.
Then we saw this.... Aiyah, we were very very good and resisted.
Guess who's a winner?!!
But we got hungry by lunchtime. Vegetarian lunch at Bishan Park spa's Green Room. Beng joined us after her bak chor mee trip in AMK.
We were so hungry, we forgot to stop to take food pictures!
